Little Lanterns Therapy is a private-pay practice and is not in-network with insurance, including Medicaid.

I work primarily with young children and mothers. Many insurance plans require a mental health diagnosis, limit sessions, or influence treatment decisions. For young children especially, not every child needs a diagnosis to benefit from support. Remaining private-pay allows me to protect your family’s privacy and provide care that is thoughtful, individualized, and guided by clinical need — not insurance policies.

Because of Medicaid regulations, I’m unable to accept out-of-pocket payment from families who carry Medicaid coverage.

Payment is due at the time of each session. I accept credit and debit cards, checks, and cash. HSA and FSA cards are also welcome. A superbill can be provided for families who wish to pursue out-of-network reimbursement.

Why don’t you accept insurance?
Insurance companies typically require a diagnosis and may limit the length or frequency of therapy. Private pay allows sessions to focus fully on your child’s or your needs.

Can I use out-of-network benefits?
Many plans include out-of-network coverage. I can provide a superbill for you to submit for possible reimbursement.

Do you accept Medicaid?
Due to Medicaid guidelines, I’m not permitted to accept private payment from families who carry Medicaid insurance.
